鄭永年高度評價了APEC的感化，也等待APEC“中國年”能給地區經貿一起配合帶來更多“正能量”。他說：“本年我們將通過民生社區室內設計在廣州、上海、年夜連等多地的分階段的廣泛討論，各經濟體針對本身情況慢慢構成共識，并最終匯聚到深圳的領導人非正式會議中。這種機制在微觀層面堅持了高度的活氣與開放性，是應對當前宏觀層面‘逆全球化’傾向的主要緩沖。”
談及粵港澳年夜灣區的未來，鄭永年表現了極強的信念。他認為，年夜灣區的未來將成為“更高質量、更高層次的世界一流灣區”。他提出了拉動年夜灣區發健康住宅展的新“三駕馬車”構想。“年夜灣區內有眾多高質量的科研機構與年夜學，有眾多具有強年夜技術轉化才能的制造企業，以及噴鼻港的世界級金融服務。這些恰是年夜灣區實現高質量發展的關鍵要素，這種優勢互天母室內設計補、協同聯動的格式，包含廣州、深圳、噴鼻港三年夜中間城市的有機結合，是其他區域難以復制的焦點競爭力。”鄭永年說。
近日，廣東省啟動了“廣貨行全國”春季行動，旨在通過當局搭臺、平臺支撐、企業參與，切實晉陞廣東優質客變設計工業產品的曝光度和市場影響力，推動全省產品線上銷售實現新衝破。鄭永年也為“廣貨”點贊，稱廣貨是“中國產品”的杰出代表。鄭永年說：“在宋朝，中國已經是世界上最年夜的商貿國家。尤其是廣州，很多多少的瓷器都是從廣州出口。我想，現在又開啟了別的一個時代，今后會有越來越多的產品來自中國，來自廣東。”
